Georgia (Minton) Aldridge

Georgia (Minton) Aldridge, 57, formerly of Merrill, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at North Shore Hospital in New York City.
She was born June 15, 1955 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to the late Lionel (Smokey) and Joesphine Minton.
Georgia graduated from Merrill High in 1973. She went on to UW Madison, where she got her BS in Psychology and Experimental Learning.
After graduation, she joined the Peace Corps, she was stationed in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Jamaica. It was here in 1981 that she met Uriel. Moving back to the States, Georgia went back to school to complete her masters in School Psychology and Experimental Psychology at the University of Minnesota. While she was there she found the Lord as her Savior.
In 1986 she married Uriel Aldridge, formerly of Jamaica, they moved to Queens, NY, where Georgia began a career in the NYC Dept. of Education. At age 55 she went back to school and earned her certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Queens College.
She is survived by her husband, Uriel; two daughters, Beata and Leilani, all from Queens Village, NY; three sisters, Delores Daley, Merrill, Gloria Peterson, Oshkosh, and Barbara (Don) Thew, Oconomowoc; one brother-in-law, Trevor Aldridge, Toronto, Canada; seven sisters-in-lawm Enid Thomas, Jamaica, Gloria Wallen, Florida, Fay Johnson, Georgia, and Juliette Raymond, Judith Taylor, Joan Sanguinetti, Jacqueline Wright, all of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 15, at Bellrose Assembly of God in Bellrose, NY. Burial followed at Pinelawn Cemetery.
