The Merrill cross country Elementary Fun Run drew a crew to Prairie Trails Park last Thursday for a dash in the drizzle. “It was like herding wild cats,” MHS coach Craig Hoffman stated. “We had a lot of energy and excitement before each race. The third-, fourth- and fifth-grade runners showed the potential of running ability for us as coaches in the upper grade levels. I was really impressed with the finishing times and the good conduct before, during and after the races. Our cross country athletes did a very nice job of hosting and working the event. All of us in the cross country program hope a culture of running for fitness permeates the Merrill community.”
