Harry Maurisak

Harry Maurisak, 91, of Rothschild, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.
Harry was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Malvern, PA, to John and Kathrine (Kalogis) Maurisak. He loved his family, and was happiest sharing a meal with, and just being together as a family. He was an avid gemologist. In his younger years he loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. Harry was a life-long fan of the Cubs and Bears and enjoyed watching the games on television. He was proud of his service to his country where he received two purple hearts and two bronze stars. He was an original Darbey’s Ranger. Harry worked in Merrill as a police officer for 25 years. After his retirement they owned Radiant Court Motel and Rock Shop in Rothschild and then Thunderbird Rocks and Gifts in Weston.
He is survived by his wife Lucille, two sons Mark (Denise) of Merrill and Max (Kathy) of Wausau, four daughters Linda Kienbaum of Weston, Laura (Steven) Ellenbecker of Schofield, Maryann of Rothschild, Maureen (Brian) Tesmer of Schofield, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister Ann Svenningson of Aurora, IL, and other relatives and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by a daughter Diane, a brother John, and a sister Mary.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, Saturday, Sept. 15. Committal followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery . John J. Buettgen Funeral Home served the family. Online condolences can be expressed at jjbfh.com.
