Tony Traeger
Anthony Nicholas “Tony” Traeger, 46, of Merrill, went to be with The Lord on June 27, 2012 after many years of illness. He passed away while in Carteret, NJ.
He was born March 25, 1966 in Perth Amboy, NJ. He was the youngest son of John and Nancy (Grimaldi) Traeger. He is survived by his wife Kimberley, daughter Melanie, sons Nicholas and Johnny, mother Nancy, brothers John (Beverly), Michael (Michelle), Joseph, William, and sister Deborah (Michael) Marcatos, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tony moved from New Jersey to Merrill in 1992. He worked at local window companies as a robotic engineer, and also worked as a bartender. He had a passion for riding his Harley, and was a member of the Nite Riders M.C. He liked watching sports…rooting for the Green Bay Packers, and the New York Giants and New York Mets. He enjoyed Civil War history and it’s memorabilia. Tony loved children and animals. He was a fearless man with a wonderful sense of humor.
Tony made the generous gift of being an organ donor. Per his wishes, his body will be cremated and his ashes spread into the Atlantic Ocean off the New Jersey shore.
There will be a Celebration of Tony’s life on Saturday, July 7, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Rookie’s in Merrill (located on Hwy 107 across from the Council Grounds State Park). All friends are welcome to come share their love and memories of Tony.
