Xavier Maurice Patton

Xavier “X” Patton, age 41, of Merrill, died June 20, 2012,at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.

He was born March 2, 1971 in Chicago, the son of the late Gregory Guice and Gwendolyn (Patton) Foster. She survives. He married the former Katie Gosnell on June 4, 2004 in Merrill.
Xavier was a 1989 graduate of Chicago Vocational High School. He then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics, in the Aviation Mechanics department. Xavier then joined the U.S. Army and served as a Generator Specialist from January 2,1991 to May 28,1991. After his career in the Army he worked at various jobs in the Chicago area. Xavier moved to Merrill in 2002 and worked at Northern Wire and later at P.D.M. in Wausau until 2010. Currently he was a full time student at NTC studying Mechanical Design. He played darts for the Newwood Tap and Rock Island Resort. Xavier was known as a very good cook. He loved playing football, basketball bowling, hunting, fishing and playing baseball and other activities with his daughters.
He is survived by his wife, Katie, his 5 daughters; Aubrey, Amari, Lois, and Avery, all of Merrill and Breyonna of Antigo. His mother, Gwendolyn Foster of Merrill. His step-father, Gregory White of Grand Rapids, MI. Maternal grandmother, Ammie Patton, Merrill, mother and father-in-law: Kris & Peter Schwartz; 3 sisters: Tabrika Guice, Chicago, Bobi Danforth, Chattanooga, TN, Terria Thompson Suggs, Atlanta, GA, Emily (Travis Peterson) Forehand, Merrill, Cassie Gosnell, Greenville, TN, and Kimberly Gosnell, Greenville, TN, 2 brothers: Jacob Schwartz and Justin Schwartz, both of Merrill, 1 aunt, Celestia Wilkins, 4 uncles; Terry , Eddie, Charles and James Patton, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Guice and his aunt, Lois.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Rebecca Iverson will officiate. Friends may call from 9A.M. to 11A.M., Tuesday, at the Waid Funeral Home.
