Margaret A. Malitz, 95, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
She was born November 28, 1916 in Tomahawk to the late Oscar & May (Rockwell) Erickson. She married Otto Malitz May 6, 1936 in Merrill. He preceded her in death June 5, 1994.
Margaret was a home maker and farmer in the town of Pine River from 1945-1982 when she and Otto retired and moved into town. She enjoyed embroidery, plastic canvas creations and growing flowers and vegetables. Margaret also enjoyed spending time with her family and neighbors. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Merrill.
Survivors include her daughter: JoyAnn D. Malitz, Merrill; sister: Dorothy (Doyle) Klade, Tomahawk; sister-in-law: Beulah Erickson, Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Otto, infant son, Otto Walter, sisters & brothers-in-law, Lillian (Leonard) Brunold, Effie (Robert) Belliveau and Grace (Paul) Muenchow, brothers & sisters-in-law, Lester (Jeanette) Erickson, Robert Erickson and Walter (Jane) Erickson.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church. Rev. Don Entenman will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM before the service at the church.
