Anthony J. Robl, age 77, of Merrill, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Anthony was born February 17, 1935, in Merrill, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Hogl) Robl. He married Margaret Hamlin on July 23, 1954, in Merrill. She survives. Tony was born and raised on a farm. He owned and operated his own farm until 1982 with his wife and family. In addition, Tony worked at Wausau Paper Mill – Brokaw as a 1st class Millwright for 22 years. He also worked at Lincoln Hills School as a youth counselor, he was a sales representative for Menard Agricultural Buildings, and he had worked at Merrill Equipment. Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and metal detecting.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Robl, of Merrill; three daughters, Ann (Carl) Robl Jackson, of Gleason, Colleen Robl, of Merrill, and Rita (Curt) Brodjieski, of Merrill; four sons, Keene (Debra) Robl, of Merrill, Mark Robl, of Merrill, Alan (Tammy) Robl, of Philo, IL, and Anthony (Jeri) Robl, of Merrill; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Clara Robl, of Wausau. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Robl; and two brothers, Joseph and Frank Robl.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Father Joseph Kleinheinz will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home is assisting the family.
The family extends a truly special thank you to the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services for their excellent compassion and care.
The family has requested that memorials be directed to Pine Crest Nursing Home Special Care Unit or Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
