Joni L. Kunkel, 47, of Summerville, wife of Kal Kunkel, passed away April 4, 2012.
Born in Merrill,WI, she was the daughter of Joanne Vandre Krueger and the late Lavern Krueger. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin and worked as a Data Analyst with Charleston County Adult Education. Mrs. Kunkel was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She was a devoted mother to her daughter and son’s and was known as the “Ultimate Soccer Mom”. Joni loved football and was a devoted Badger and Packer fan.
She is survived by her husband of twenty one years, Kalen Kunkel, daughter, Karlie Kunkel of Summerville, two sons, Adam Kunkel and Andy Kunkel of North Charleston, mother, Joanne Krueger of Merrill, WI, two brothers, Randy Krueger and wife Ann of Merrill, WI and Mark Krueger and wife Gail of Sussex, WI, sister, Linda Foster and husband Richard of Belleville, IL, father and mother-in-law, Roger and Nancy Kunkel of Merrill, WI, brother-in-law, Kevin Kunkel and wife Cindy of Summerville. Joni was preceded in death by her father, Lavern Krueger and brother, Gene Krueger.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1660, Leafy Grove Rd, Merrill, WI 54452.
