Arnold J. Ebben, age 87, of Irma, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his residence.
Arnold was born July 28, 1925 in Phlox, WI the son of the late Arnold and Anna (Van Hoof) Ebben. Arnold and Delores Learman were united in marriage July 25, 1944, a union that lasted 67 years.
Arnold had worked for the Ladish Company as an inspector for over 36 years. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family, and sharing pictures and stories of his travels with his family and friends. Arnold liked hunting, reading, camping, and spending time with his dog Nicki. Arnold and Delores enjoyed speaking at the Lincoln Hills School. Arnold was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and the 4th degree Knights of Columbus where he served on the honor guard and was a life member.
Surviving are his wife Delores, Irma; daughters, Carol (Jim) Hellrung, Des Moines, Iowa, Joyce (Michael) Williams, Milwaukee, Barbara (George) Vukobrat, Burlington; grandchildren, Jackie Hellrung-Marburg, James-John and Dr. Daniel Hellrung, Brent and Stacy Williams, Shelly Rassmussen, Julie Nelson, Scott and Chad Vukobrat; great grandchildren, Ashley Hellrung, Andrew Marburg, Emma, Abigail and Isabella Hellrung, Riley and Ellie Williams, Tyler, Brendon and Kyle Nelson, Emmitt, Cooper and Grace Vukobrat.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, son Gary Martin, great granddaughter Megan Hellrung and great grandson Hunter Vukobrat.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Fr. Mike McLain will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 4-8 p.m. and again Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Waid Funeral Home. Thursday evening there will be a 4th degree Knights of Columbus service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Soup Kitchen at St. Francis Church.
