Cecile ?Pat? Barkley

Cecile “Pat” Barkley, age 84 died Wednesday, March 21, at her home.

Pat was born August 21, 1927 in Wausau the daughter of the late William and Claudine (Mees) Barkley. Pat graduated from Merrill High School in 1954 and then attended Normal College. She worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and Ward Paper until her retirement in 1991. Pat enjoyed yard work, spending time with her horses, donkeys, and dogs. She also enjoyed making harnesses for horses and spending time in the great outdoors. She had a special love for John Deere.
Survivors include: Nieces and Nephews: Pamella Barkley, Susan (Jerry) Zastrow, Timothy (Donna) Barkley, Laurie (George) Woller, Thomas (Cheryl) Barkley,and Cheryl (Todd) Zimmerman, all of Merrill, and Randal (Christine) Barkley of Medford; her beloved dog, Katie; great nieces and nephews: Joshua (Ginny) Barkley, Bethany (Matt) Hoover, Alyssa, Caleb, Amanda & Joseph Barkley, Heidi (John) Sturzenegger, Wendy (Jen) Woller, Jessica Woller, Stephanie Barkley, Kelley Bellettini, Brooke Zimmerman, Randal Barkley and Chelsea & Ashley Hamelund; ‘great-great’ niece and 3 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, William Barkley, brother and sister-in-law John and Marcella Barkley, nephew, Michael Barkley, and two great nephews in infancy.
Memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday, March 31 at the Waid Funeral Home. Chaplain Sue Kruger will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Donations may be given to TB Scott Library or the Lincoln County Humane Society. The Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
