Mother Nature has not been kind to the Sled Dog Musher this winter. The Custom Design Cool Running Sled Dog Race has melted to a WI Trailblazers Fun Run event at the Pine River School on Saturday, Feb. 4. Mushers are still invited and many are coming to run on the shortened race course.
The area VIP dog sled race is still planned for noon on Saturday. The fun Family Day Activities, the Lucky Dog Toss, Ottoman Race, Dog Sled Pull and Giant Pinko Board sponsored by River Valley Bank will still be played beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Food such as homemade chicken soup, ham and homebaked desserts will be served in the Pine River school cafeteria.
The event on Saturday is sponsored by Aspirus Merrill Center, Custom Design Heating & Cooling and other area businesses. Pine River School is located on East Hwy 64 Merrill.
The AYCE spaghetti ‘n meatball Dog Sled Supper will still be served at 5 p.m. at Lincoln Lanes on North Center Avenue in Merrill with the announcement of the winners in the Children’s coloring contest and the Cool Running Sled dog Raffle.
