Helen J. Lohfink, age 83, of Merrill, died Friday, January 6, 2012, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Helen was born October 23, 1928, in Merrill, daughter of the late John and Frieda (Walli) Rajek. She married Donald C. Lohfink, Sr. in 1955. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1992. Helen had been a Dietary Aid at Pine Crest Nursing Home. She enjoyed traveling; camping; and spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Judy (Wally) Smith, Merrill; three sons, Donald (Lori) Lohfink, Jr., Richard (Marianne) Lohfink, and Thomas Lohfink, all of Merrill; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bob) Wildman, Gleason, and Jacob Lohfink, Emily, Alex, and Adam Smith, Chuck Urbas, and Steven (Rebecca) Zimmerman, all of Merrill; six great grandchildren, Stephanie, Ally, Cody, Cole, Rylan, and Blake; one sister, Patricia Koepke, Merrill; and one brother, Robert (Gen) Rajek, Merrill. Helen is preceded in death by one son, Max Lohfink; one granddaughter, Kelsey Smith; two sisters, Joanne Rajek and Margaret Domino; and one brother, John Rajek.
Helen’s funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Michael McLain is presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, and again after 9:30 A.M. Tuesday, all at the funeral home.
