Wayne H. Dettmering

Wayne H. Dettmering, age 71, of Brokaw, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
Wayne was born February 13, 1940, in Merrill, son of the late Harvey and Nina (Kufahl) Dettmering. He married Diane M. Teschner on March 10, 1962, in Merrill. She survives. Wayne was retired from Crystal Finishing Systems, Schofield. He also grew and sold Christmas trees; he produced and sold Christmas wreaths; and he also raised ginseng. Wayne was a member of the Central Wisconsin Corvette Club in Wausau; the Wausau Gold Prospectors Club; and the Mid-State Metal Detectors Club. He enjoyed collecting antique cars and attending car shows, especially in Iola; hunting, fishing, and camping with his family; and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Diane Dettmering, Brokaw; one daughter, Tammi (Joe) Rodemeier, Wausau; one son, Todd (Karey Baker) Dettmering, Hazelhurst; (3) grandchildren, Allison and Madeline Rodemeier, and Jessica Marten; (2) great grandchildren, R.J. and Dominic; (2) brothers, Martin (Janet) Dettmering, Kronenwetter, and Donald (Nancy) Dettmering, Merrill; and (5) nieces, Julie, Jody, Jackie, Kimberly, and Sherri.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.
