DMV moving to Merrill City Center building

Merrill developer Park Street Properties LLC, this week announced the addition of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) as a tenant at Merrill City Center located at 100 S. Mill St. in downtown Merrill.
The former Snyder Drug Store, which was acquired and renovated by Park Street Properties in 2009, is also the current office location for Park Street Properties and for Edward Jones Financial Advisor Dave Purmal. Spokesman Chris Malm said the addition of the DMV offices to Merrill City Center will bring finished and occupied space to about two thirds of the building, leaving approximately 2,500 square feet for further development and occupancy.
Work on the DMV office will be completed in mid-January and begin serving customers in the new locations on Jan. 24, 2012. The DMV new service hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. The DMV Customer Service Center will continue to provide only Drivers Licensing Services and road testing. The DMV office and services will continue in their current location at Merrill City Hall until Jan. 10.
Malm said once the DMV office is opened in January, the adjacent parking lot on the north side of the building will be available to only customers and guests of Merrill City Center during business hours. Nights and weekend parking will remain available to anybody shopping in the downtown area.
