Caroline F. ?Carrie? Wallace

Caroline F. ‘Carrie’ Wallace, age 54, of the Town of Corning, Lincoln County, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at her home under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
Carrie was born on Feb. 25, 1957, in Tomahawk, daughter of the late Franklin and Vera (Goeden) Winter. She married John Wallace on July 14, 1979, at Indian Lake Park, Dane County, WI. He survives.
Carrie’s greatest accomplishments were raising a wonderful daughter and building a log home with her husband. Carrie was a very active and devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill, where she was involved in the Mission Committee. Carrie had a permanent green-thumb and enjoyed horticulture including house plants and flower gardens with daffodils and irises. Carrie was a 4-H Leader and she enjoyed woodworking, refinishing antiques, snow-shoeing on her ‘back 40’, and canoeing on the Somo River. Carrie had been the hostess for the Nicolet Welcome Service in Merrill. She most recently worked for the Holiday Gas Station in the Sixth Ward.
Survivors include her husband, John ‘Wally’ Wallace, of the Town of Corning; daughter, Lora (Adam) Daniek, of Rothschild; sisters, Kathy (Ed) Perko, of Mercer, Sue (Jeff) Nienow, of Arbor Vitae, and Patricia Clothier, of Arbor Vitae; brother, Kurt Winter, of Tomahawk; sisters-in-law, Dianne (Gary) Steinwehr, of Black Creek, and Sybyl (Richard) Wood, of Black Earth; and brother-in-law, Richard Wallace, of Mazomanie. Carrie was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Winter; her father, Franklin Winter; her step-mother, Marie Winter; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Mae Wallace.
The Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. The Rev. Donald Entenman will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
