Ladies golf event raises funds, food for Merrill Food Pantry

Merrill Public Golf Club’s Ladies Leagues hosted an 18-hole golf event on Tuesday, July 26. Each golfer was asked to bring non-perishable food or money as a donation to the Merrill Food Pantry. One of their hole events was Buy a Drive. Each lady golfer had an opportunity to Buy a Drive on the first hole for a donation to the Merrill Food Pantry. Sid Sukow, Merrill, volunteered to hit a great drive for each of the ladies. Several baskets of food were collected and over $300 of cash was donated and given to Merrill Food Pantry. Everyone who made a donation received a raffle ticket to win a pair of Callaway ladies golf shoes that was donated by Goal-Line Golf & Hockey, Wausau.

The day’s events included a $10,000 hole-in-one sponsored by Church Mutual Insurance Company. Unfortunately no one won. Raffle prizes were donated by Merrill Golf Club, Three Wishes, Johnson’s Gifts and Collectibles, LLC, Brose’s Floral Center, Ruth Heyne, and Lynn Zentner.
