Virginia Turgeon passed away on July 21, 2011 at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with cancer at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.
A Mass was held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomohawk on July 26, 2011 assisted by Krueger Family Funeral Home of Tomahawk.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1928 to Herbert and Stella (Nowak) Mitchell in Tomohawk. She married Norbert Turgeon on May 10, 1947 – also from Tomahawk. He passed away in 1991.
Virginia resided in Friendship, WI for many years. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, singing and her family. She was a blessing to many and lived her life out in kindness and strength, sharing and teaching a strong Christian Faith and Love to all who knew her. A caring woman who was always there, with letters, recipes, advice and pictures to share. She devoted herself to her family and leading a Christian life and will be missed dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Turgeon; children, Kathy Turgeon and Elmer Turgeon; parents, Herbert and Stella Mitchell; siblings, Henry Mitchell and David Mitchell.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Erickson (Dale), Joseph Turgeon, Mary Cahala (Daniel), Bonnie Turgeon, Laurie Thede, Daniel Turgeon; grandchildren, Gary Erickson, Joy Ziegelbauer (Jerry), David Cahala, Mandy Sabatke (Tim), Josh Thede, Tanya Turgeon, Jay Turgeon, Randy Thede, Michelle Kilgore (Rob), Daniel Cahala, Estelle Cahala, Linda Pankow (Tom), Jesse Turgeon, Brittney Hartal, Dakota Hartal, Guy Hartal; great-grandchildren, Jessica Jaeger (Alex), Jerome Ziegelbauer, Daven Sabatke, Brittney Cahala, Tyler Cahala, Angelica Turgeon, Marya Zavaleta, Julie Turgeon, Jhonatan Zavaleta, Jr, Julian Rodriguez, Emma Kilgore, Luke Kilgore, Tjaden Pankow; great great-grandchildren, Adrian Jaeger and Trynia Jaeger.
