Carl L. Gruett, age 56, of Wausau, formerly of Merrill, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011.
Carl was born Sept. 8, 1954, in Merrill, son of the late Paul and Vernette (Lambrecht) Gruett. Carl was self employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, reading, working with wood and leather, and the Minnesota Vikings.
Survivors include his sons, Dustin (Rachel) Gruett, Merrill, and Daniel Gruett, Madison; grandchildren, Isaiah, Samuel, Benjamin, and Elliana Gruett, all of Merrill; sister, Kay Marie Battle, Green Bay; brother, Edward Gruett, Merrill; nieces, Heidi Schallberg, Kansas City, MO, and Nicole Gruett, Merrill; nephew, Tim Schallberg, Merrill; and great nephew, Zachary Lusher, Merrill. Carl is preceded in death by his sister in law, Kristine Gruett; and also by nephew, Erik Gruett.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting with the arrangements.
