Alice Mathilda Henrichs, 96, Merrill, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
She was born in Merrill on Sept. 23, 1914 to the late Fred and Selma (Gherke) Raasch. She married Grover Henrichs Dec. 22, 1934 in Merrill. He preceded her in death Jan. 1, 1998.
Alice enjoyed playing cards, bingo, fishing, doing needlework and cooking. All the children in her neighborhood enjoyed sledding on her snow hill for 70 years. She was the best baker to everyone who had the privilege of sampling her goodies. Alice was an original West Side card club member. She was also a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Chet Henrichs, Eagle River, and Grover (Florence) Henrichs, Merrill; daughter-in-law, Linda Henrichs, Merrill; son-in-law, Don Rohde, Merrill; grandchildren, Kim (Matt) Leder, Jo (Jim) Henrichs – Brannan, Scott Rohde, Lisa (Dave) Ruge, Jason (Tammy) Rohde, Don (Nicole) Rohde, Tim (Rhonda) Henrichs, Jeff (Karen) Henrichs and Kevin Henrichs; great-grandchildren, Julia (Tim) Busterud, Ryan (Becca) Ruder, Paul Leder, Holly (Matt) Nye, Jeff Henrichs Jr, Jimmy Henrichs, Bobby Brannan, Amber (Tim) Mulrooney, Brock Rhode, Kyle Ruge, Amanda Ruge, Cana and Faith Rohde; and four great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Grover, daughter, Donna Rohde, and sons Wayne ‘Squint’ Henrichs and infant, David Henrichs.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Smallman will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, and again from 10-11 a.m. Saturday before the service, all at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.
