Rose M. McCartney, age 76, of Merrill, died Monday, May 30, 2011, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
Rose was born November 21, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Clark) Dalen. She married Hulett McCartney in 1951. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1993. Rose was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda McCartney, Beloit, and Barbara (Marty Fox) Ryden, Merrill; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four sisters, Clara Lund, Petersburg, Illinois, Patsy (James) Starrett, Trevor, Wisconsin, Jean (Ed) Doench, Potosi, Wisconsin, and Caroline Rupp, Platteville, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Turbyfill; two granddaughters, Rayanne Bialecki and Yolanda Hudnut; three sisters, Julia, Rita, and Ruth; and two brothers, Harlow and James.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted with local arrangements.
