Dr. Michael T. Wayda, age 56, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, in Cambridge.
Michael was born October 1, 1954, in Kenosha, son of Judith A. Wayda-Christiansen (Glenn Christiansen) and the late William D. Wayda. Michael served in the United States Navy (Corp of Engineers) and was stationed in Port Hueneme and Okinawa. Michael returned to his education at the age of 31. He became a Doctor of Chiropractic and practiced in the Madison area since 1992. He was the owner of Capitol Chiropractic Clinic, Madison. Michael’s hobby was breeding Bullmastiff dogs. He imported Bullmastiff’s from the Czech Republic, Canada and Spain in an effort to increase the longevity of his U.S. pedigree.
Survivors include his three children, Kerri (Michael) Fitzpatrick, Misty (Nelson) Higgins, and Ty (Melissa) Wayda; ten grandchildren, Timothy (Bethany) Fitzpatrick and Adam Fitzpatrick, Brody, Elijah, Casey, Kenna and Tonka Higgins, and Liam, Drew and Ainsley Wayda; one great-grandchild, Tucker Fitzpatrick; his mother, Judith Wayda-Christiansen; eight siblings, Daniel (Sherry) Wayda, Deborah (Tom) Van De Weerd, Patricia (Jeff) Woller, William A. (Jean) Wayda, Robert (Cristiana Munguia) Wayda, Karen (Gin) Wayda, James (Ann) Wayda, and Edward (Amy) Wayda; his ‘honorary brother’, Dennis ‘Hermit’ Barber; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his father, William D. Wayda; his grandmothers, Rosalia Marie Clark and Iva Dalton Wayda; and his grand-fathers, Harley Clark and Julius Wayda.
The Memorial Service will be at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Father Joseph Kleinheinz will preside. A Memorial Visitation will begin at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, at the funeral home. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
