Historical Society offers a Sweet Escape

It’s an evening with beautiful music. It’s a dazzling array of decadent sweets paired with fine coffee or tea. It’s a bit of confectionery history sprinkled with a little candy trivia. It’s Merrill Historical Society’s fourth annual Sweet Escapes scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Center 100 E. Third St.

Sweet Escapes is a buffet of elegant desserts, gourmet coffee, and tea, complemented by Carol and Dave Finanger’s lovely harp and violin duets. To complete the evening guests will learn about confectionery history and share a little candy trivia. There will also be a chance to get a sneak peek at the re-opening of The General Store Exhibit.

Tickets can be purchased at the cost of $8 at the MHS office, 102 E. Third St. Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 536-5652.
