James ?Jim? Noland

James “Jim” Noland, 67, of N4418 Timber Drive, Medford, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, on his land in the township of Browning.
Jim was born Dec. 19, 1943 at the township of Chelsea, Taylor County.
On May 29, 1963 he married Dixie Zuleger at Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey. They were divorced in 1993; On Feb. 5, 2005 he married Linda Cottrell at Tomahawk. She survives.
He attended Medford area elementary schools, was a 1962 graduate of Medford High School; he also attended various mechanic & business classes throughout his life. He was awarded a master mechanic certificate.
He worked as a mechanic at Streckert Mfg. in Medford, James Peterson & Sons in Medford, and Van Larhoven Equipment in Medford for periods of time. He did some woods work. Then he worked for Niemuth Implement in Stetsonville as a mechanic and later owned & operated the business until his retirement. He was presently a supervisor on the town board for the township of Browning. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling. softball & dartball. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey, and the Whittlesey Lion’s Club;
He is survived by his wife, Linda Noland, township of Browning; daughters, Laura (Craig) Peterson & Karen (John Faber) Hanson, both of Medford; sons, Edward (Cathy Bohl) Noland & Ronald (Diane) Noland, both of Medford; step-children, Amanda (Matt) Schnae of Merrill & Nicholas Tessmer of the township of Browning; grandchildren, Danielle & Curtis Peterson; step-grandchildren, Talon & Isabella Schnae. He is further survived by his mother Martha (Neuhaus) Noland of Medford; sisters, Betty Zakowski of Wautoma, Irene Sculley of Fredericktown, MO, & Judy (Ken Baumgartner) Quednow of Curtiss; and brother Eugene (Nancy) Noland of Medford. He was preceded in death by his father Albert P. Noland; son David Noland in 2000; brother Jerry Noland in 1962; sisters, Pauline Emmerson in 1985 & Elizabeth in infancy.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey. The Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services. Pallbearers will be Tommy & Butch Dassow, Curtis Peterson, Gary, Jesse & Pat Noland, Ed Ludwig, Paul Zakowski.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to either Trinity Lutheran Church of Whittlesey or the Whittlesey Lions Club
