Lorna M. Haffemann, age 84, of Merrill, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Lorna was born March 13, 1926, in the Town of Berlin, Marathon County, daughter of the late Roy and Ila (Kleinschmidt) Schmidt. She married Karl E. Haffemann on March 2, 1946, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2004. Lorna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. She had worked at Good Samaritan Health Center in the housekeeping department for 41 years. Lorna enjoyed her pet dogs; taking the occasional casino trip, and attending the Kleinschmidt family reunions.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Kleinschmidt, of Merrill; two sons, James (Rosemary) Haffemann, of Houston, TX, and Brian (Barbara) Haffemann, of Merrill; seven grandchildren, Tim, Brenda, Tom, Kevin, Jennifer, Jeffrey, and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Josh, Taylor, Samantha, and Porsche; and one great-grandchild ‘on-the-way’. Lorna was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Fred Kleinschmidt.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
