Leilla M. Frederick, age 86, of the Town of Pine River, Lincoln County, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011, in the Town of Pine River.
Leilla was born August 8, 1934, in Wausau, daughter of the late Emil and Erna (Gralow) Zastrow. She married William E. Frederick on February 14, 1953, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. He survives. Leilla had worked with the Latzig family for 25 years at Badger Wreath, Merrill. Leilla was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River, where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed flowers, collecting Cardinals, and taking the occasional casino trip. She also took great pride in maintaining a perfect lawn, and enjoyed making maple syrup at the shack.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Frederick, of the Town of Pine River; one daughter, Margie Rice, of the Town of Pine River; one son, Mark (Chansa) Frederick, of Merrill; four grandchildren, Ryan (Amber) Rice, of Menasha, Amy Rice, Cody Sczygelski, and Courtney Sczygelski, all of Merrill; one great-granddaughter, Reegan Rice; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Frederick, of Merrill; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Frederick and Robert (Carol) Frederick, both of Merrill; and one niece, Barbara ‘Sue’ Frederick, of the Town of Pine River. Leilla was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Frederick; one sister-in-law, Marie Schultz; and two brothers-in-law, Elmer and Louis Frederick.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday, all at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
