Drunk driver arrested after erratic drive from Rhinelander

A 24-year old Lac Du Flambeau man remains in the Lincoln County Jail after deputies investigating a reckless driving complaint took the man into custody on felony and misdemeanor charges last Monday.

At 4:22 p.m. the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department first reported a vehicle traveling south on State Road 17 out of Rhinelander that had run one vehicle off the roadway. A short time later a 911 caller reported the vehicle traveling all over the roadway as it went between the three counties on North State Road 17. Deputies were able to catch up to and stop Kory R. Wildcat near Parrish after he had stopped in the middle of the road and turned around twice heading in opposite directions.

Wildcat was uncooperative as deputies from both Lincoln and Langlade Counties took him into custody. After a blood draw, Wildcat was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated third offense, obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering safety. He was also held on a probation violation charge. At a bond hearing the next day, a Lincoln County Judge set a $1,000 cash bond, which Wildcat has been unable to post.
