Barn fire in town of Scott

On Dec. 22 at approximately 1:23 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department was advised of a structure fire in the town of Scott.
According to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the homeowner had contracted for a metal silo to be taken down and removed; the silo was attached to a wooden barn. The party taking down the silo was using a torch to loosen bolts and cut metal. In the process, the barn caught fire. All of the large livestock animals were removed from the barn before the fire spread.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Merrill Fire Department and EMS, Town of Corning Fire Department, Town of Pine River Fire Department and Wisconsin Public Service responded.
