The third annual Lincoln Lager Barleyfest, held in October at the Smith Center in Merrill, provided donations to the Lincoln County Humane Society and the Normal Park gazebo project. Barleyfest attracted 42 breweries this year and drew over 500 participants from seven states.
Barleyfest is a free-standing event, which was supported in 2010 by 31 sponsors.
“We can’t do it without sponsors,” said Dan Wendorf, who is a member of the committee that coordinates Barleyfest. “Generous donations from local businesses is the only way we can run this.”
The committee already has a couple of meetings under its belt for planning next year’s event, which will be held Oct. 1, 2011.
