Rebecca Sue Peeters, age 30, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a long battle with leukemia surrounded by her family.

She was born July 20, 1980 in Merrill to Larry and Patricia (Polebitski) Peeters. They survive.
Rebecca was a 1998 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She then graduated from Meredith Manor Riding Academy in West Virginia in 2000. Rebecca had worked at the Merrill Super 8 Motel, BP Gas Station, Michaels Craft Store in Wausau, the Merrill Walmart and was currently employed at Walgreens Drug Store in Merrill. She was active in the Relay for Life and enjoyed scrapbooking and card stamping. Rebecca always found time to go hunting and fishing with her dad. She loved horseback riding. It was her dream to someday own her own riding stable so she could teach children how to ride. Rebecca fought leukemia since June of 2008.
She is survived by her parents; Larry and Patricia Peeters, her fiancee; Nathaniel Weisenfeld, sister; Therese (Jeremy) Kufahl, and 2 nephews; Kurtis and Tyler Kufahl, all of Merrill, along with various aunts and uncles. Rebecca is preceded in death by both her paternal grandparents; George And Loretta Peeters and her maternal grandparents; Chester and Lucille Polebitski as well as her aunt, Beverly Peeters.
Services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday at the Waid Funeral Home with the Rev. Beth Macha officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until Noon on Wednesday at the Waid Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be given to the Merrill Area Relay for Life.
On behalf of Rebecca, her family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Peterson and all the staff at the Wausau Cancer Clinic, Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Dr. Longo at the UW Madison Clinic.
