THS boys splashed by SPASH

The Hatchet swimmers gave strong personal efforts despite losing by an official score of 96-60 to a large squad from Stevens Point.
“All-in-all, the boys swam quite well tonight with regards to personal times,” THS coach Marion Kohl said. “Senior captain Joe Nettesheim continues to shine with a pair of firsts, especially in the 500 freestyle with a very nice time of 6:19.30, which means he’s getting closer to his personal best every meet.”
Nettesheim also won the 50 free in :26.03, and John Lazarz took the 100 fly in 1:12.01.
Tomahawk collected thirds in: the 200 IM ( Lazarz, 2:29.58); the 200 medley (Alex Tollison, Mason Brown, Lazarz, Nettesheim, 2:09.91); the 200 free (Lazarz, Brown, James Leet, Nettesheim, 1:57.17) and the 400 free (Leet, Chris Weaver, Vic Ierulli, Tollison, 5:01.58).
The Panthers could have prevailed by a 121-46 tally, but chose to quit scoring after the 100 back.
“The SPASH Panthers have done this before,” Kohl said. “Sportsmanship is high on the list for this team, always has been, probably always will be. Either way we didn’t do too badly against them.”
