Mildred ?Mony? Rose Iverson

Mildred “Mony” Rose Iverson, 99, of Merrill, died the 11th of December, 2010, at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Mony was born in Athens, Aug. 24, 1911 the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Margaret (Freiders) Lonsdorf. She graduated from Athens High School in 1929 and then attended college in Stevens Point receiving an associate’s degree in teaching. Mony and Arthur M. Iverson were united in marriage Dec. 26, 1932 in Stevens Point.
Together Mony and her husband owned and operated a pharmacy in Cambridge, WI for 38 years. Arthur preceded her in death, Feb. 1971. Mony then moved to Merrill where she was a youth counselor at the Lincoln Hills Boys School in Irma. She retired in 1979. She was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church, the Church Altar Society and Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary. She organized along with the other volunteer auxiliary members the first gift store at the hospital.
Mony’s hobbies included golfing, antique collecting, reading and playing cards. She loved her family very much; she had a very strong spiritual faith and found great comfort and peace praying the Rosary.
She was preceded in death by nine siblings and her daughter Sonja (Ralph) LeFevre. She leaves behind her beloved children: Mark (Barbara) Iverson, Mary (Jim) McConnell and their families; and her dear friends Judy (Bob) Weaver, Evie Woodward, Gus Caylor, Sister Delores Lilla, Audrey Ek, Nancy Meier, and her extended Pine Crest Family.
A mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Mony Iverson on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.The Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
