Delores E. “Dee” Kimmons, 72, of Merrill, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at her home.
Dee was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Merrill, daughter of the late James and Eda (Thorsdahl) Kimmons.
Although physically challenged, Dee enjoyed volunteering her time to others. She was named “Volunteer of the Year” for 2010 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. Dee also enjoyed writing poetry; creating special occasion cards on her home computer; needlepoint; and helping out her family. She was also on avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Dee is survived by her siblings, James (Marion) Kimmons, Merrill, Dolly (Dale) Peterson, Irma, Leonard (Harriet) Kimmons, Tomahawk, Robert Kimmons, Fond du Lac, and Shirley (Jim) Martin, Bakersfield, CA; and two sisters in law, Peg Kimmons, Wausau, and Judy Kimmons, Irma. Dee is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Dale; one sister in law, Janice Kimmons; one brother in law, Jim Ford; two nieces, Beverly and Barb; and two nephews, Forrest and Robert.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Chuck Kohley will officiate. Burial will take place in Bethany Cemetery, Town of Birch, Lincoln County. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
