Jack Raymond Anderson

Jack Raymond Anderson, 76, went peacefully home to Heaven on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Marywood Nursing Home, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jack was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Merrill, to Raymond and Olga (Luenser) Anderson. Jack married Bernice (Hahn) on Dec. 28, 1956. She preceded him in death July 29, 1988. Jack then married Mary (Ourada) on Aug. 19, 2000. She survives.
Jack served in the Army for 3 years, and served 18 months in the Korean War as a Medic Specialist. After his honorable discharge he attended The University of Wisconsin, Madison, for 5 years and graduated as a Registered Pharmacist. Jack took over the Anderson’s Clinic Pharmacy, Merrill, from his father. After the pharmacy closed, he worked at Schulzes Pharmacy and Snyder Drug, both in Merrill, Copps Pharmacy, and retired from K-Mart Pharmacy in Wausau.
Jack was active in Central Wisconsin and American Pharmaceutical. He was a founding member of the Merrill Kiwanis Club and served as Lt. Governor of the North Wisconsin District of Kiwanis. Merrill Kiwanis was honored as an outstanding district under Jack’s command.
He served 4 years on the Trinity Lutheran School, Merrill, Board of Education, and served 4 years as Trinity Lutheran Church Chairman of the Congregation at which time the church paid off a large debt. He also served 4 years as a Trustee.
Jack was a proud member of the Silver M Club in Merrill. He received his Golden M in 2002 and served as President of Silver M Club for 1 year.
He was currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. There he served as both a Deacon and an Elder. He was instrumental in expanding the Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church and was proud to have helped serve over 5,000 people a year. He volunteered in the church office where he ran the weekly bulletins and the monthly news letter.
He was an avid Badger and Packer fan. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, grilling and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his favorite grand dogs Sophie, Scout and Willie.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Ourada) Anderson, Wausau; his children, Ray (Harumi) Anderson, Key West, FL, Kari Lea (John) Kufahl, Merrill, Lori (Eric) Malm, Merrill, Heidi (Rick) Romatoski, Merrill, and Jack (Megan) Anderson, Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Alex Anderson, John Anderson, Hope Anderson, Brooke (Troy) Brandt, Derek Koehler, Justin (Jasmine) Koehler, Nick Anderson, Zach Anderson, Gracie Anderson, Max Anderson; step grandchildren, Dan (Stephanie) Kufahl, Tim Kufahl, Brittany Malm, Austin Malm, Rachel Romatoski, Bailey Romatoski, Taylor Romatoski; great grandchild, Anders Koehler; and step great grandchildren, Edward Smith and Claire Kufahl.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Olga Anderson; his first wife Bernice (Hahn) Anderson; and son in-law Craig Bader.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. The Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at church. Burial of the urn will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau.
