Riverside Athletic Club, 500 S. Center Ave., Merrill, recently expanded its offerings to include group training classes.

Riverside Athletic Club , in the Merrill area since 1981, is a full service fitness facility.

“We are pleased to offer Merrill the latest concepts in training – functional workouts that emphasize core strength,” said club owner Paul Kienitz. “Our new Group Training Studio is all about training the body as a whole, rather than focusing on separate muscle groups. We train in groups of no more than 10 using stability balls, kettlebells and heavy ropes. The workout is dynamic and fast paced.”

Along with group training, Riverside Athletic Club offers group exercise, personal training, warm-water pool, racquetball, gymnasium, and a women’s only workout area. The facility is open Monday through Thursday 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday 6 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m.-noon; 24 hour access is available.

The Group Training Studio can be experienced by anyone who participates in the club’s trial membership.
