Merrill police captain honored by state Eagles

Captain Kenneth Neff was honored recently during the Wisconsin State Eagles Convention held in Waukesha. Ken was selected from a number of law enforcement applicants throughout the state.

Each year the Wisconsin Eagles honor a Law Enforcement officer. EMT, and firefighter who shows exceptional service to their community. Ken was the first recipient from the Merrill area since the awards were started.

Neff was nominated by Merrill Police Chief Ned Seubert, who cited many accomplishments over Neff’s 28 years with the Merrill Police Department. Neff has coordinated the DARE program, bicycle patrol unit and bicycle safety education. He also helped form the first Teen Court and was instrumental in developing the School Resource officer position. He is also very involved in the Merrill community through various organizations.

“His reputation with the Merrill community is superior and it is undeniable that the Merrill Police Department and community are a better place to work at and live in because of Ken Neff,” Seubert wrote.
