Norman J. Marquardt

Norman J. Marquardt, 92, town of Maine, died Saturday, October 23, 2010, at home under the care of family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
Norman was born December 2, 1917, in the town of Maine, to Emil and Ernestina (Schult) Marquardt. He married Mabel Sabatke on September 14, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in the town of Berlin.
He and wife, Mabel, farmed in the town of Maine until 1976. He was then employed at Wausau Homes, Inc. and Wausau Lumber Sales until his retirement in 1996. He was a life-long member of Faith Lutheran Church, formerly Zion Lutheran Church, in the town of Maine.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; one son, Allen (Barbara) Marquardt, St. Cloud, MN; one daughter, Joy Marquardt, Merrill; two granddaughters, Lisa (Christopher) Partyka, Blaine, MN, Michelle (Travis) Marquardt-Cole MD, Seattle, WA; one great-granddaughter, Hayden Partyka, Blaine, MN; one step-great grandson, Trent Dunn, Santa Clara, CA; one sister, Mabel Zunker, Wausau; and nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine. The Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
