Geraldine June Marth

Geraldine June Marth, 89, Marathon, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born July 30, 1921 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Harry and Alvina (Bartelt) Henrichs. On December 27, 1941, she married Milton Marth in Little Chicago. He survives.
Geraldine was a proud graduate from Marathon High School in 1940. After her marriage to Milton, they owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Rib Falls followed by a turkey farm in the town of Hamburg. The turkey farm lead to the establishment of Marth Wood Shavings Supply which just recently celebrated 50 plus years in business. Geraldine was proud to have handled all the book work for the business on a daily basis.
Geraldine was a founding and life member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Rib Falls and also a life member of the Ladies Aide group. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, spending time at their lake home on Lake Nokomis, and enjoying quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Milton Marth, three daughters, Sandra (Edward) Martyn, Athens, Paulette (Kenneth) Natzke, Marathon and Carol (Lawrence) Edwards, Woodbury, Minnesota, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and her sisters, Elaine Sonnentag, Marathon and Harriet (Roger) Wanner, Wausau.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Edward Martyn in 1997, her siblings, Lavilla Henrichs in 1918, Vernette Lu Ann Henrichs in 1925, Harry Elton Henrichs in 1927, Isabelle Mae Henrichs in 1928, Wilfred Wayne Henrichs in 2006, Joanne Dawn Lane in 2006 and Marcella Rose Drengler in 2007 and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2214 State Hwy 107, Marathon. The Rev. Terry Reich will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Peter Cemetery, town of Hamburg. Friends may call on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Geraldine’s name.
