St. Francis Xavier Catholic School of Merrill has entered the Power a Bright Future contest for a chance to win $50,000 for “Active Learning Classrooms.”

The grant would allow for purchase of interactive white boards (IWB) and dynamic seating. The active learning classroom is expected to enhance learning and engagement both mentally and physically. Students would also gain greater understanding of why their personal health & well-being are essential for learning & growing. IWB technology utilizes a large touch screen that can be seen by the whole class. IWBs stimulate multi-sensory learning needs & encourage active participation with the touch screens.

The winner is decided by popular vote. To vote, go to www.powerabrightfuture.com, visit the nominee gallery and search for Merrill to find St. Francis. People may vote daily through Nov. 1.
