Tomahawk throws a bridge burning party

The North Fourth Street bridge in Tomahawk will be closing for construction on Friday, Oct. 1. On Saturday, Oct. 2, Tomahawk’s Bridging the Gap Promotions Committee will be hosting the 1st annual Oktoberfest “Burning the Bridge” celebration right on the bridge.

The day begins with children’s activities from 10 a.m. to noon. Brats, hot dogs, soda and water will be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The beer tent will be open from 2-8 p.m. The Tomahawk High School band and choir will perform from noon to 2 p.m. The event will also feature a bouncy house, inflatable obstacle course, duck float, pontoon & hay rides, and live polka and bluegrass music. A bonfire on the bridge will be lit at 6 p.m.
