Pfannerstill quotable- “Our goal is to win conference and state championships. After last year’s run to the State Tournament, we are looking to build on that accomplishment.
“With not graduating any seniors, we have a solid core of players who have worked hard in the offseason and are ready for the season’s challenges. We return 11 of our 2009 letterwinners, including every starter.
“Experienced primary passers will hopefully allow us to side out very efficiently. Offensive firepower in the middle and outside, as well as on the right side, allow us to attack from all positions at a quick tempo. We have experienced setters to run a complex offensive system, and aggressive, varied servers to keep other teams from siding out.
“Kaitlin is one of the strongest hitters in the northern part of the state. She has a wicked jump serve, is capable of hitting many different shots and is a primary passer. Jenna has developed into a “taken-for-granted” libero and serve receive passer. Kaylyn is a dependable, athletic setter and is capable of running our offensive system with confidence. Sydney has a very high volleyball IQ and is always in the right place at the right time.
“Anna has developed into a confident setter and great right side hitter, for us, and, with a phenomenal vertical jump, is a formidable blocker. Kellan’s offseason has been incredibly productive and she is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the middle for us this year, as a blocker and as an attacker. Ashley is a great defensive player for us and will provide offense with her wicked serve. Kayli has improved tremendously over the winter and is ready to be a force in the middle opposite of Kellan.
“As the team to beat, the players need to stay focused and calm in stressful situations. We need to score more points off of our block, especially at the pins, and make sure that we don’t get sloppy defensively and can win long rallies.”
