A one vehicle roll-over accident Saturday morning injured two Tomahawk women, one critically.

At 6:31 a.m., Lincoln County 911 received a call reporting the accident with unknown injuries.

Twenty year old Jonelle I. Philbrick was traveling on County Road CC near Wildwood Lane when she lost control of her vehicle, it left the roadway and struck a tree. After hitting the tree the vehicle rolled on to its side, trapping Philbrick and her passenger, Brienna L. Walker, 19, also of Tomahawk.

Tomahawk EMS along with the Tomahawk Fire Department and deputies responded to the scene. It took firefighters about an hour to extricate the two women from the vehicle. Two helicopters, MedEVac and Life Link III from Rice Lake responded to the scene and flew the victims to Aspirus Hospital Wausau.

As of Sunday night both had been upgraded with Philbrick being listed as serious and Walker as fair at Aspirus. Deputies contacted the Wisconsin State Patrol, who are assisting with the investigation. Criminal charges may be forthcoming in the matter; speed and alcohol are considered contributing factors in the incident.

The Tomahawk Police Department assisted with traffic control at this crash.
