On Friday morning deputies responded to a report of a possible suicidal man in the Town of Russell but were able to take the man into custody without incident.
According to the deputy’s report the 19-year old was despondent and had armed himself with at least two weapons, firing one of them.
The Special Response Team was placed on standby but when deputies arrived on the scene they were able to quickly resolve the incident. The man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation; he will be referred to the district attorney on a disorderly conduct charge.
