A 54-year old Illinois man credited his personal flotation device for keeping him alive after being tossed from his boat on Lake Mohawkskin outside of Tomahawk.
The man told the county recreation deputy that he had been having problems with the engine on his small boat and as he motored along a larger boat passed him causing him to lose control and tossing him into the water.
The man yelled for help and after some time a passing boater pulled him from the water and brought him to his boat which had landed on a nearby island. The man suffered no injuries and was thankful for the help of the fellow boater and his PFD.
