Pine River School for Young Learners Work Day
On June 7, the Pine River School For Young Learners had a work day to put additional plants in the butterfly waystation they created last year. They also created a Grapevine Passage Way to observe the life cycle of grape plants. In addition, they created a pizza, pumpkin and Peter Rabbit garden that has all the vegetables from the story A Tale of Peter Rabbit. Families at the school are taking turns taking care of the garden and are able to get the produce. The classroom will be using the produce in the fall for educational learning. The Merrill Area Community Foundation Beyond Crayons and Computer Grant helped fund the Grape Vine Passage Way and the Butterfly Waystation. The public is welcome to check out the Butterfly Waystation and the Grape Vine Passage Way in the community gardens next to the Pine River School For Young Learners.
