Post Office Coloring Contest
Adam Sczygelski, McKenzie Plautz, Kiana Jahnke and Haley Rindt have been selected as the winners of the 1st annual Christmas Coloring Contest sponsored by the Merrill Post Office. According to Postmaster Joelle Nelson, the contest started on Dec. 1 and was open to all elementary schools in the MAPS district. The contest was broken up into four categories: Pre-K and Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade and 6th grade. On Dec. 15, the contest closed and the submissions were hung in the Post Office to be voted on by employees. In exchange for their submissions being selected, Adam, Mckenzie, Kiana and Haley each received a "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" DVD. Nelson has plans for additional contests in the future, such as a letter writing contest planned for February, in an effort to have the Merrill Post Office become more involved in the community.
