Trinity Lutheran Church Welcomes Pastor Adam Rodriguez

On July 28, Pastor Adam Rodriguez was ordained and installed as associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church of Merrill.
Adam was born on October 25, 1989 in Panama City, Florida. He was baptized on January 14, 1990 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mobile, Alabama. Adam moved around quite a bit growing up, spending years in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri and Indiana. Adam was confirmed into the faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, Indiana in 2004. Upon graduating from Trinity Lutheran High School in Seymour, IN, Adam moved off to college and attended Concordia University Chicago and entered the Director of Christian Education (DCE) program.
On move-in day at college,

Adam stumbled upon a beautiful girl, Kyla, in the stairwell of his dorm hall and they started dating towards the end of the first year of college. Adam and Kyla would date all the way through college, taking almost every course together, because they both were in the DCE program. Before going off to their perspective DCE internships, Adam asked Kyla to marry him. They would spend the year of engagement apart, Adam being in Wayside, Wisconsin and Kyla being in St. Louis, Missouri. After their internships they were married on August 2, 2013. Kyla joined Adam up in Wisconsin for three and a half years, where they both were in ministry as DCEs.

In August of 2015, Adam realized that there was a shortage of pastors and heeded Christ’s call into the Pastoral Office. While at Seminary Kyla worked as the Assistant Registrar for two LCMS Youth Gatherings, and was also on staff at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri as a DCE. Adam’s vicarage year was spent in Frankenmuth, Michigan at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and School. During the years of Seminary Adam worked on the Grounds crew, participated in the Student Government and led an organization on campus called Students in Mission. On May 1, 2019 Adam was excited to be called to Trinity to begin his pastoral ministry. Adam graduated on May 17, 2019 with his Masters of Divinity.

Adam, Kyla, Carson (2 1/2 years old), and Madison (1) are excited and eager to finally settle down after moving almost every year of their marriage. They bought a house in Merrill and look forward to making it their home. As they move forward and look to settle their family they would appreciate your prayers and support. They hope to meet as many people in the Merrill community as possible!
