Black achieves Eagle Scout rank
Levi Black, of troop 406, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America. During his time in the scouting program, Levi served as Bugler, Quartermaster, Assistant Patrol Leader and Patrol Leader, and earned a total of 26 merit badges. In 2018 he was inducted into the Order of the Arrow.
For Levi’s Eagle Scout project he planned, built, stained and erected 13 bluebird houses which were used to line the walking trail at the Merrill Area Recreation Complex. Levi would like to thank all those who assisted in this project, including Merrill Ace Hardware for donating the stain, brushes and screws, High Ground Tree Farm for donating the lumber, and Dan Wendorf at Merrill Park and Rec for donating the posts and assisting with the planning and placement of the houses.
When asked what he liked most about scouting, Levi replied, “going on campouts, learning new things and having fun with my friends”. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 11, at 5pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wausau.
