Nelson’s Power House poised for expansion

Earlier this month construction resumed on the Nelson’s Power House construction project. A brand new store and warehouse are being built at 2500 East Main Street in Merrill between O’Reilly Auto Parts and One Way Collision Center. The first thing Dave Nelson would like the community to know is that with the expansion comes a name change for the business. The new name will be Power House Lawn and Leisure, Inc.

Work is underway on the future home of Nelson’s Power House, soon to be located at 2500 E. Main Street.

As Nelson explains, 10 years ago when he started the business he sold and serviced outdoor power equipment exclusively. The business grew to become the premier power equipment dealer for the area.
“In 2016 we took a hard look at where the business was at and explored new products to sell’ Dave said. That led to adding hot tubs to his inventory. Next came a line of grills, including gas, ceramic, pellet, cast iron and aluminum models; all being made in either the US or Europe. This is Power House’s fourth year selling and installing robotic mowers.
Dave said that business is really taking off this year.
“Our customers know we ran out of room a long time ago,” he adds.
Nelson’s Power House’s original store is 1800 square feet. The new store is 7500 square feet which will include about 4000 square feet for showroom. The rest of that building will be an expanded service department and offices. The on-site warehouse will measure approximately 7,200 square feet.
“We are so excited about the upcoming move’ Dave said. “We look forward to continued growth and serving our customers, old and new, in north central Wisconsin and beyond.”
Nelson’s is currently located at 123 S. Genesee Street in Merrill and be reached at (715) 722-0232 during regular business hours of 8:30-5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8:30-2 p.m. on Saturdays.
