A fire destroyed a pick-up truck and closed northbound US Hwy 51 Wednesday morning. Just after 2:15 a.m. the fire was reported on US Hwy 51 north of County Rd S in the Town of Bradley. Tomahawk Firefighters extinguished the fire but the truck was a total loss.

A 50-year old Merrill man was arrested Thursday morning on a misdemeanor charges of bail jumping. The man appeared in Lincoln County Court House for a hearing and the Merrill Police Officer involved in the case advised he could detect the odor of an intoxicant coming from the subject. The man provided a preliminary breath test which showed he was over twice the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle. Bonds in Lincoln County Court prohibited the man from drinking.

A 44-year old Merrill man was arrested Thursday afternoon after crashing his vehicle on Joe Snow Rd in the Town of Scott at 3:22 p.m. When a deputy arrived he found the man seated in his truck “huffing” the contents of an aerosol can. The driver was taken into custody for intentionally abusing a hazardous substance along with a misdemeanor count of bail jumping for violating a bond in Lincoln County Court.

A 28-year old Merrill man was arrested Thursday evening after deputies responded to a disturbance in the Town of Pine River. Just after 6:00 p.m. deputies went to a home and learned that the intoxicated man had slapped someone during a disturbance. When deputies attempted to take the man into custody he refused to comply with their commands and an electronic control device was used in order to gain compliance. The man was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
