The Community Blood Center (CBC), will host its annual MASH Blood Drive and Grill-Out on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. New this year, the blood drive event will take place at the Merrill Expo and Enrichment Center (303 N. Sales Street).
For every blood donation received, CBC will make a monetary donation to the new Northwoods Veterans Post Facility and The Never Forgotten Honor Flight.
The event will include the following for presenting donors:
• Lunch and refreshments
• MASH t-shirt
• Entry to win one of two $1,000 gift cards to The American Club at The Kohler Resort or Lodge Kohler in Green Bay
“The Merrill MASH Blood Drive is a great opportunity to support the local community,” vice president of donor services, Kristine Belanger, said. “As the sole provider of blood and blood products to more than 20 hospitals throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the Community Blood Center relies on volunteer blood donors to ensure local patients have the life-saving blood products needed. These blood donations support the needs of family, friends and neighbors, including right here at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital.”
During the summer months collecting blood donations becomes challenging, but the need for blood continues to grow. Through this fun event, CBC aims to replenish a diminished blood supply during its busy season.
Donors are encouraged to schedule a blood donation ahead of time; however, walk-ins are welcome.
